Iron infusions are now available by appointment at DMC Medical Centre.
To book for an iron infusion, you will need to book an appointment with your DMC GP, who will request a blood test and on review of results if clinically indicated, then refer you to our iron infusion clinic for an appointment (which are administered strictly by pre-booked appointments). Your DMC GP will also give you a prescription for Ferrinject which you will need to purchase from the pharmacy, and then bring with you to the iron infusion appointment.
The iron infusion can take up to one hour and is privately billed $240 for the infusion service. Unfortunately Medicare rebates are not available for iron infusions as this point in time.
Please note that iron infusions are not available to patients with external referrals, as it is a service provided by DMC registered nurses on behalf of DMC General Practitioners only, and available for patients with a referal from a GP at DMC Medical Centre only.
